    Ms. Mary Lee has been teaching kindergarten for more than twenty-two (22) years. When she is not teaching, she enjoys being a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Service Ministry in her home parish. In her free time, Ms. Lee loves being with family and friends, running, and taking spin classes as well as practicing yoga and Pilates.

    Mrs. Maureen Asaro has been teaching for more than thirty (30) years. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas College and received a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education. In addition to teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, classical music, and musical movies.

    Mrs. Kelly Potter is an alumna of Saint Joseph School. She is very happy to be back to her home base to continue her teaching career. She has been teaching for twelve (12) years, the majority of which were at the second grade level. Mrs. Potter has her undergraduate degree from Salve Regina University and her Master's from NYU. She and her husband are the proud parents of two children, both current Saint Joseph School students.

    Mrs. Gina Brower joins Saint Joseph School with having taught grades one through three over eleven years. She is a founding member of the Ethical Community Charter School, located in Jersey City, NJ. Her most recent teaching assignment was third grade. Mrs. Brower is an alumna of Saint Joseph School! She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education and Psychology from William Paterson University and is a NJ certified Elementary teacher (K-6).

    Mrs. Jessica Valdes has taught in Catholic schools for more than ten (10) years. She has both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from St. John's University. In addition to her Elementary certification, Mrs. Valdes is also certified as a Middle School Math teacher. A member of St. Joseph Parish, she enjoys volunteering for a variety of church activities and spending time with her husband and three children.


  • Mrs. Angela Gussoni, Reading Specialist

    Mrs. Angela Gussoni is honored to be back at SJS as a part-time reading specialist for the Lower School. Mrs. Gussoni is going into her 35th year as an educator both in public and private schools. From 1989 to 2016, Mrs. Gussoni was placed in the Upper School as a teacher of English, Reading, Social Studies, and Assistant Principal. Then, upon leaving SJS, she worked in the public sector as a reading resource teacher with K-12 students who had reading challenges. Mrs. Gussoni holds a MA in Reading and Administration, a BS in Marketing Management, and hold certificates in Paralegal, Business Administration, Elementary Teaching Certification, and Reading and Language Arts subject matter specialization. In addition, Mrs. Gussoni also is fluent with the Italian language, which she studied in Italy.
