1. Is St. Joseph School accredited?
St. Joseph School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. The faculty is comprised of state certified teachers and the curriculum follows the Common Core Curriculum Standards and the guidelines established by the Archdiocese of Newark.

Recent graduates have been accepted at all of the local New Jersey private high schools and academies, including Academy of the Holy Angels, Bergen Academies, Bergen Catholic High School, Don Bosco Prep, Englewood Academy, Immaculate Heart Academy, Paramus Catholic High School, St. Joseph Regional High School,
and St. Peter’s Prep. Students also attend Regis High School, Dominican Academy, and the Convent of the Sacred Heart, located in New York City.

There are more than 20 local towns listed in the current student directory, with the majority of families coming from the Oradell/New Milford area.
7. Do you have extended care available?
Before care is provided beginning at 7:15 AM. Aftercare is available until 6 PM. Rates are family friendly and there is no minimum time requirement in order to take advantage of these programs.
8. What are the school hours?
The school day is from 8:00 AM – 2:45 PM. Half days of school dismiss at 12 Noon.
9. Are extracurricular activities available for students?
There are 3 athletic teams, scouting and a host of clubs and activities covering a variety of student interests.
10. Do you have a hot lunch program?
St. Joseph School offers a daily hot lunch and milk program, with menus posted monthly. In addition to the regular menu, wraps, bagels and salads are also offered daily, along with other snack and dessert items.
11. My child has an IEP/ISP. What educational services do you offer to accommodate this?
Prior to registration, the school principal will meet with you and go over the educational plan you have to determine if we are able to meet the needs of your student.
Students with IEP/ISP plans in place are seen by trained faculty from Bergen County Special services, according to the accommodations that are needed. Small group instruction, in class support, speech therapy and ESL services are provided either once or twice per week. In addition, we also have our own Resource Room teacher.
12. Do you have any honors classes at St. Joseph School?
At the end of grade 6 students are evaluated in Math and may be placed in Pre-Algebra in grade 7, rather than in the regular Math 7 class. Students who do well in Pre-Algebra are then scheduled for a full year of Algebra in grade 8. The advanced Math students are also grouped together in Science.
