1. Is Saint Joseph School accredited?
Saint Joseph School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. The faculty is comprised of state certified teachers and the curriculum follows the Common Core Curriculum Standards and the guidelines established by the Archdiocese of Newark.

Saint Joseph School is a National Blue Ribbon School which means that students score in the top 10% nation-wide on standardized tests.

Saint Joseph School offers Pre-K age 3 to 8th grade within a co-educational classroom environment.

If the local town you live in provides bus transportation service to its public school students, you will be eligible for transportation reimbursement from the State of New Jersey.

Recent graduates have been accepted at all of the local New Jersey private high schools and academies, including Academy of the Holy Angels, Bergen Academies, Bergen Catholic High School, Don Bosco Prep, Englewood Academy, Immaculate Heart Academy, Paramus Catholic High School, St. Joseph Regional High School,
and St. Peter’s Prep. Students also attend Regis High School, Dominican Academy, and the Convent of the Sacred Heart, located in New York City.

There are more than twenty (20) local towns listed in the current student directory, with the majority of families coming from the Oradell/New Milford area.
7. Do you have extended care available?
Before care is provided beginning at 7:15 AM. Aftercare is available until 6 PM. Rates are family friendly and there is no minimum time requirement in order to take advantage of these programs.
8. What are the school hours?
The school day is from 8:00 AM – 2:45 PM. Half days of school dismiss at 12 Noon.
9. Are extracurricular activities available for students?
There are plenty including three (3) interscholastic athletic teams, scouting, clubs, and activities covering a variety of student interests. A listing can be found on the Student Life page.
10. Do you have a hot lunch program?
Saint Joseph School offers a daily hot lunch and milk program, with menus posted monthly. In addition to the regular menu, wraps, bagels and salads are also offered daily, along with other snack and dessert items.
11. My child is classified and has an IEP/ISP. What educational services do you offer to accommodate this?
Prior to registration, the School Principal will meet with you and go over the educational plan. At that point, the determination can be made as to how and if we are able to meet the needs of your child.
Students with IEP/ISP plans in place are seen by trained faculty from Bergen County Special Services, according to the accommodations that are needed. Small group instruction, in class support, speech therapy, and ESL are among those services provided weekly. In addition, we also have our own Resource Room support teacher.
12. Do you have any honors classes at Saint Joseph School?
At the end of 6th grade, students are evaluated in Math and are either placed in Pre-Algebra or Math 7 the following year. Students who do well and meet grade requirements in Pre-Algebra are then placed in Algebra 1 for a full year during 8th grade. Those advanced level Math students are also homogeniously grouped together in Science.
