Saint Joseph School established an Intervention Committee that meets on a monthly basis to address the needs of SJS students who may be struggling to learn in the classroom and/or socially. The committee is comprised of faculty members, an administrator and the LDTC or other learning consultant. The committee reviews each case and recommends an action plan that is put into place for a targeted period of time. Data and work samples are collected and the committee reviews each case to determine if the implemented actions were successful to address the issue or whether the case should be forwarded to the Child Study Team for further review and assessment.
Parents who are concerned about their child's learning ability should speak to the classroom teacher for referral to the IR&S team. Mrs. Kelly Potter oversees the SJS Intervention and Referral Committee meetings. The Committee meets once per month on Mondays.
